History

TORONTO.
St. Saviour's Church, Carey Bay, Toronto, was on Thursday dedicated by the Bishop
of Newcastle, in the presence of a large number of parishioners. The bishop was
accompanied by the Archdeacon of Durham, Rev. West, and the rector of the provisional district

of Toronto, the Rev. J. V. F. Gregg-Macgegor. The ceremony weas very impressive, The bishop
congratulated the residents of the district on the success of their efforts, in the building of their
church. Mrs. A. S. Challen officiated as or-ganist.

The new church is built on a site fronting Brighton-avenue. It is of handsome design, built of brick, with tiled roof. It was designed by Mr. E. Tingle, architect, of Newcastle, and built by Mr.
J. W. T. Chapman, of Toronto. During past years the services have been conducted in a large boatshed on the foreshores of the bay, lent by Captain Arthur.
