Today I grabbed my camera and took a few shots of a workers on a barge attending to one of the private moorings in Carey Bay.
One cannot just find a nice spot and install a private mooring, one has to go through a licensing process which is detailed in a document, The Lake Macquarie Mooring Management Plan, published by The Waterways Authority which is governed by Transport New South Wales. An interactive map of available moorings sites in NSW is available online. Once one has authority an approved contractor can be engaged to carry out the work.
There aren't many private moorings in Carey Bay so it's easy to take note of the comings and goings. These photos are of workers from a private contractor working late this morning on the catamaran Saracen.
