Boats in the Bay

Many houses in Carey Bay are on the waterfront or situated so that they can have a view or glimpses of the boats in the Bay.

Boatsheds on Carey Bay (2019)

While several waterfront dwellers have boatsheds others store their boats conveniently in their gardens by the Lake. On a drive through the streets of Carey Bay one can spot many boats on trailers parked on the roads, in driveways or garages.

Out in the Bay there are currently, on licensed moorings, a small number of boats that range from a tiny timber vessel to large catamarans.  These mostly belong to people who live close by and use small rowboats or rubber duckies (inflatable boats) to access their vessels on the water.

As the light was attractive last evening I took some photos of the boats that were moored in the Bay.

It was rather dark at 3:40pm when I snapped this image of a sailing race in progress on Lake Macquarie just beyond Carey Bay
